NFL Daily – NFC West – San Francisco 49ers

It was a nailbiter in Indianapolis this week, as I was nearly awarded the “Who’s the dumbass now?” award from Chad. Alex Smith starred again, completing 19-of-32 passes for 198 yards, including a TD and a pick in the 18-14 loss to the Colts. Smith played pretty damn good despite lots of pressure from the best set of defensive ends in the league. Michael Crabtree caught six balls for 81 yards and is shaping up to have one hell of a, or at least one hell of a partial rookie season. He was Smith’s primary target but misread a ball on a slant that the Colts’ D took to the house. The 49ers head to a bye week feeling much comfortable with their team than the beginning of the year with Shaun Hill.
