NFL Daily – NFC North – Chicago Bears

Had a bad week? Looking to get away? No, not a Southwest commercial. Just go play the Cleveland Slumpbusters and you’ll be right back on track, right Jay Cutler? Wrong. Cutler completed just 17-of-30 passes for 225 yards and a pick in the Bears’ 30-6 win over the Browns. Cutler didn’t play particularly well in the win, but I suppose that the Bears didn’t need him to do a hell of a lot. He was seeing a lot of pressure from Rob Ryan’s Cleveland defense, dropping Cutler four times with sacks and another handful of QB hurries/hits. The Bears, and even Cutler, are shaping up to be the biggest disappointments (probably outside of Tennessee that is) on the entire season. The insult to injury is worse with Kyle Orton having a successful season and Josh McDaniels leading the Broncos to a 6-1 record and likely playoff spot. I’m sure Cutler will be fine in the long run, and his ceiling is much higher than Rex Grossman or Cade McNown. The Bears face Arizona this Sunday.
