Maurice Jones-Drew ran 23 times for 123 yards and one TD in the Jags 24-22 over the NY Jets. MJD now has 630 total yards and seven touchdowns in the four previous contests. In one of the rare moments when an NFL player actually flashes some personality, MJD apologized to his fantasy football owners for kneeling down at the one-yard line at the end of Sunday’s win. “To my fantasy owners, I apologize,” Jones-Drew said. “I have myself today, so it was a tough call. But whatever it takes for a victory, that’s all that counts.” The kneel-down was the nail in the coffin for the Jets. By kneeling down and not going for the TD, MJD gave the Jags the ability to run the clock out, as opposed to if he had scored, the Jets could still have mounted a victory. By running for 123 yards Sunday, MJD became the first back to top 100 rushing yards against a Rex Ryan led defense since Larry Johnson accomplished the feat in 2006. He leads the league with 12 TDs and averages 120 yards per game and 5.1 yards per carry in his first stint as the Jags’ feature back.
