From The 3s Word of the Day

In conjunction with dictionary.com, we will now start running a daily “Word of the Day” post to improve our vocabulary, or lexicon if you will.

torpor \TAWR-per\, noun:

1. Lacking in vitality or interest.
2. A state of mental or physical inactivity or insensibility.
3. Lethargy; apathy.

The New England Patriots’ defense showed an enormous amount of torpor in their efforts against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. They allowed 24 points in the first quarter, and proved to be lethargic in their efforts for the duration of the game.
